Belkin wireless 802.11g card any good?
I can two Belkin FD57000 54g Wireless Desktop Network Card for $60 less some coupons which will bring each card to ~$45.
Would you trust Belkin for wireless? See: http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&Sku=504000 I'm not sure if they can be upgraded when the 802.11g draft becomes offical. |

I would rather pay extra for Netgear or Linksys. But if your budget is very tight, guess there isn't many choices left.

Netgear's G card won't be out until mid april and the reviews I've read on Linksys' G card aren't good. It looks like it has issues with backwards compatibility with B cards.
If you're only going to use the G cards you should be ok. I think all of them will be straightened out once the G standard becomes official. They'll prolly all come out with firmware updates for the cards to bring them up to spec.

If you are running ONLY 802.11G, then it shouldn't be any problem. The problem occurs when you try to run 802.11B via 802.11G card and that's why I picked up 802.11B last month. It's a heck lot cheaper than G format and has been accepted almost everywhere there is a wireless internet such as StarBucks. Personally, I don't put too many hopes on the firmware update because those 802.11G cards were produced before it is standardized. I would feel much more comfortable once it is offical and the cards produced afterward. But if you must have 11G now, I would get LinkSys which has more frequent firmware update.
