Question about the BEFW11S4 Version 2 - Linksys Wireless Router
Is there a way to make this Wireless Access Point Router into just a regular access point, without the router, dhcp, firewall etc capabilities?
I just want to use it as a Access Point to my existing wired network which is held together with a linksys router w/ 8 port switch. Thanks for your time |

Yes. Go into the Admin console, open up a browser and go to 192.168.1.1.
Under DHCP, disable it. Under LAN, I suggest you disable DHCP client and hard code an IP address. Under Gateway, put in the IP address of your 8 port router. That should do it. I actually setup my friend in the same situation up this way and he's running well. I don't remember if I connected the network cable to the WAN port or one of the LAN ports. Try it both ways and see which one works.
