Memory Question
Hello. Bit of a novice here. I have recently purchased a Dell Dimention 8250 computer. It came with 512 Megs of RDRAM memory. I am thinking seriously about buying an additional 512 Megs of RDRAM memory for it. Does that make sense? Will it make the system a bit faster while surfing the net, etc. Thanks in advance for any answers.

I believe that Rdram has to be run in pairs. That will dictate what you will be able to do with it.

Make sure you get the same speed as the ram you already have, just to be safe, you never know if your mobo will freak.

Not unless you are also compressing digital video, serving a Freelancer galaxy, or compiling a ton of code while surfing. Surfing the web is dependent most upon your internet speed and everything depends on your harddrive. I just increased from 512 to 768, and saw very little change, but it was nice to know that I was not near the upper limit on my physical memory.
