Need A Case

I need to get a case for this system i'm purchasing soon. Anyone have any suggestions. I heard that I should have at least a 450W power supply. Should I get one that has like 300W and just change it out with the one listed below?

If anyone sees any problems with compatibility or , hard drive, RAM issues etc... could you help me out. Do I have the right XP OS? I'm not sure about the RAM. Or any other suggestions. The total is about $1600. I'll probably wait a few more weeks for the prices to drop and the release of the new 3.2.

Where are you getting the 3.0 GHz P4 chip from? Have they gone on sale yet?

As far as a case goes, you really can't go wrong with an Antec case. They have very good cooling and excellent power supplies. The 350W P/S version should be plenty of power... however they do have bigger supplies available. (http://www.antec-inc.com/pro_details...p?ProdID=80843)

As for your hard drive, I'd try to get the 8MB Cache version if possible... especially as your main "system" drive.

Everything else looks fine... do you already have a monitor?

Thanks for the help i'll look in to the memory and a better hard drive. I currently have A Viewsonic 17 inch CRT. I'm thinking of getting a 17 LCD and have dual monitors for a while. According to newegg.com they have the 3.0, though the price hasn't dropped any. They have it listed at $510. I'm waiting for that price to drop.

Sorry a few other quick things, I understand OEM, but I don't. Do you think its better to get the motherboard OEM or retail? There's a $20 difference. Should I look for some of the other products to be OEM? While I am trying to get a sweet system, I'd like to try and keep the cost down as much as possible, this is still pretty cheap. I went with: Maxtor 120GB 7200RPM Hard Drive 8MB OEM, CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series CMX512-2700C2 PC2700 DDR RAM 333MHz w/ Heat Spreader - OEM and a ANTEC Performance PLUS Model PLUS1080AMG- with Antec Original TRUE 430W P4 Power Supply ATX12V Retail based on your suggestions.

Sweet, thanks a ton. Everything that i've shopped for has come from newegg. I will look in to the other two and see what I can do. Thanks again for the help.

I found that googlegear was actually cheaper in the end by about 90 bucks. I'm sure on the 21st when they release the 3.2 the price will drop more in the processor. I had a question about dual monitor. I have the 17 inch Viewsonic CRT, if I was to get a 17 flat screen would I be able to have dual monitors with that mobo and video card? How does dual monitors work? Is it the video card that holds both?
