I have an old Altec lansing 4.1 set of computer speakers. I like it b/c it comes with a remote control and sounds really great. However the subwoofer is a big square with sharp edges and it's not magentically shielded. So I put the subwoofer away from my monitor and the computer.
Besides the JBL Creature speakers that are shielded, what other options are there?

I have one of those weird desks where the monitor is half way sunken in. So the monitor is like 1.5 - 2 feet off the ground maybe. I had the sub in the corner behind the desk and that was just a weird angle to put the desk at. And the freaking cord isn't long enough to put it in another corner because the satellite speakers are attatched to the sub also. I would like to put the computer on the floor or on this under the desk computer tray thing, to reclaim some desktop space, which again would place it 1.5 - 2 feet away from the sub.
I know one day if I leave it exposed I'll do something stupid like put a floppy , VHS tape of TV Shows on top of it, or some other magentically sensitive material just b/c I need some flat surface to throw junk on. |
