Power outage killed my computer...i think..help!

ok..
so, last night..there was a power failure..i wake up and the clocks are all blinking..and my computer's off (it's usually on)

well...

i check it out...try to turn it on...nope..no luck.

so...
i get the manual (epox 8k7a ), and check the ost codes.. (there's a little led thing on the mobo...
well, the post code says C1...so, i reference that to the manual and it says:

C1h Detect memory
- Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC.
- Auto-detection of L2 cache (socket 7 or below)

so...I check out the memory...seems ok..
now looking at the processor..and that seems fine too....
didn't test it on anything else..but visually...doesn't look fried or anything like that...

anyone have any clues?

new problem....
so...i kept on playing with the computer..
took out all cards..
reinserted ram/cpu

got the post codes to wokr and all that..
so, put back everything..
re inserted hd & stuff...
gets to the 'your computer did not start properly' menu and asks if you want to run it in safe mode....

i've tried all of them, but instead of booting up...it just reboots itself....
any ideas?

i'm thinking i might be able to try to take advantage of that $10k guarantee (or however much money they guarantee) that powerstrips have. Just losing power wouldn't have killed the machine...ri oght? it would've had to been a jolt that wrecked my machine...and then caused the power outage.....i dunno...that's what i'm thinking.

If you got to 'your computer did not start properly' then it is prob a corrupt file in windows. Have you tried to "repair" windows with the install cd?

attgig that's odd, I had the same thing happen to me yesterday (however I was installing new RAM, instead of your situation) It turned out to be my new RAM stick. I check every RAM stick in each slot, just to narrow it down, when I actually just had my original setup everything worked fine, so maybe something happened to one of your RAM sticks.

I got two APC UPS. I didn't know the power went out until the lamp went out.

it seems like the whole system is just flaky...

sometimes, it'll freeze at C3..
other times, it'll go through and windows will die on me.

so, the mobo/cpu/ram doesn't look good...

MAN... I'm pretty screwed $$-wise too...maybe i need to start a website to get people to donate money to me....
