Opinions on the case on the Deals page

Ok so you guys convinced me to start building a new computer. I plan on getting the 2.8 ghz 800mhz FSB when it comes out and whatever motherboard looks good at the time. Let me ask you, would you build a system using the case from the front page?

Here it is at Amazon

Looks pretty cool but I don't know much about cases so I would appreciate your input.

Muchas gracias.

Oh...would you recommend the full towers or the mid towers if it was an antec case. From your previous post it seems like full towers.

I have an Antec case very similar to this one with a 400w power supply, I bought it three years ago and I'll probably have it another three...

I used the 1080 for my first computer (buit in January) and it is great. The one thing I wasn't so keen on in the full tower is that the connection for my DVD burner on my ASUS A7N8X deluxe motherboard is so far away that I had to put it in the bottom slot- would have preferred the top. Can't argue with the 430w power supply though- all the clean power you will ever need.

Those are pretty nice cases. A bit plain looking I think though. Do you guys think that cases that are more eye candy substitute functionality for looks?

Yeah, I know that some folks care more about the "candy paint job" than the function. But hey... sometimes I even run my box with the panels off (if it's REALLY hot in here). Nobody but me is gonna see it... so what do I care.

HAHA, I'm with you Dark Fury...I'd rather have my stuff stay as cool as possible with the amount of money i'll be putting in to it. If I want glitz and looks, i'll decorate it with stickers, or let my 5 year old niece loose on it with markers.

I have a metal Antec. Its a very heavy case thats well made. Lots of room and you don't need a slide out mobo tray. You can find deals on this case (different badging) for under $70. One the pc chains had that sweet coolermaster case for $99.

Also if your building your rig right away Mushkin.com is having a sale on some kick @$$ 2-2-2-6 400mhz ddr. 256 for like $55 and 512 for $99. You just missed their 1 gig (2 sticks of 512) for $170 special. 10% off using code: ANAND
http://www.mushkin.com/cgi-bin/Mushk...4/Catalog/5424

Googlegear has Corsair XMS 512 for $95.

New egg has it with free shipping!

These 256 twinmos sticks are nice for $57 each. Same ram as corsair and reportedly good for 400mhz+ c2. As high as 450mhz 2-3-3-6!!! I'd get a pair of these for the dual channel. http://www.memoryx.net/gn256pc3200.html

Not ocing but want to run dual channel for cheaper:

Good luck,
