Hmmm, not taking into account the FX 5900 makes the review fairly non-topical or timely. I understand that the 5900 wasn't around when the review was written, but it is on the market and its kinda hard to use this review to base a purchase decision on.

The FX5900 was not taken into account because it's not available in retail yet. Let's hope it doesn't take 4 months for it to reach retail after being announced like what happened with that other card that Nvidia doesn't even acknowledge anymore.

It is quite hard to get an Nvidia sample until Asus et al. start pumping out the cards and thats going to be a while yet.

I understand that it wasnt available to test, but don't you see how a review of a competing card that doesn't even mention it in the conclusion is less helpful. If you just added the sentence, "In a short while the FX5900 will hit the shelves and other reviews have shown it to compete well with the 9800pro so I can't recommend making a purchase decision until the 5900's abilities are known fully."

Umm, Canta, did you read the conclusion? He did say "The NV35 should be coming out sometime this summer, and Nvidia better hope that their answer to the R350 was a lot better than the NV30 was to the R300." In case you didn't know, the NV35 is the GFFX 5900. When is "in a short while"? All that legendkiller was saying is that it's the best card available right now, which is true.
