Does anyone use USB Video Capture?

I want to capture video to my laptop. I haven't read any encouraging reviews of USB 1.0 devices that are currently available, especially the Dazzle products. Is there something available that actually works?
This will be for analog capture, not digital.

USB is not a viable option since it is way to slow to capture decent video and audio quality at the same time. The dazzle products are pretty much the only solution out there and still don't do a great job at all. A better solution would be to get a firewire pc card and get a firewire dv bridge that has analog inputs, I believe dazzle has one called hollywood dv or something like that that has analog inputs but connects via firewire.

Not trying to scare you but just to let you know. . . those prices are on the very low end of video editing equipment.

Well, I have an old ATI AllInWonder Video Capture card which I only paid $30 for and it works great for analog capture. I really don't care about editing what I am recording. But thanks for the info.

Thanks. It's hard to tell whether the cardBus slot will work with the software on my Toshiba, especially Windows XP. However, there seems to be a lot of activity on EBay with this item, so it must work with something.
