Higher res plasma TV/Monitors worth the $$$?
Are the higher resolution (12xx by 768) plasma units worth twice the price of the lower res (8xx by 480) units?
Aside from the size differences on the deals page... I've seen some 42" screens with higher, some with lower. Is it worth the extra dough if I'm only going to use it for TV and DVD? Should I only consider the higher res screens if I plan to use it for computing, too? Dave. |

It depends on what your typical feed is. The ED type screens (852x480 or so) are perfect for DVD because it's native resolution. If you're using HD feed, you're better off with the HD plasmas.
Another issue is your viewing distance. 42" is quite a small screen, so the ideal viewing distance is quite short. 50" gives you a bit more distance. |

I see... trying to justify it by adding it into the cost of our new place.
Thanks for the info. Dave. |

I would consider the DLP projection TVs. The pictures look better than those low end plasma TV (852x480).
