it's kinda easy..
i'm not sure if there's a newer version out or not, but the one i did it with is kinda recent.. the spaces for the ads are still there, but the ads themselves are gone.. step 1 - quit aim. step 2 - in your aim directory, you'll see a file named 'advert.ocm'. make a backup copy of that. step 3 - that file is write-protected, so you'll have to unprotect it. step 4 - copy this file over the old one. step 5 - restart aim just to protect myself: if this patch screws up your computer, it's not my fault. it's worked fine on my system for a few months now, and it should work fine on yours, but if it doesn't, it's your problem. not mine. -nuxx |
