Figuring out what motherboard you have?
Hey guys I want to upgrade my current system a little, but I got the system from my girlfriends parent. They can't find the papers for it so I don't know what type of motherboard it has. SO I don't know how much, or what kind of RAM it will hold and don't know what the biggest CPU I can put into it? Any ways to figure these things out? I know it has a 1 gig Athlon and just your regular RAM. Thanks

I like the Belarc Advisor, and it's free from www.belarc.com
It audits the machine and lists all the hardware/software components. I had an old PC Chips mobo that it identified perfectly. Sometimes is doesn't identify the correct BIOS version - I had upgraded the BIOS on this particular box and the Belarc report showed the OE BIOS version. I think this happens because the program's source of the audit info is the registry. Anyway, I have gotten great use out of the program...

Hey guys used the software and found out that the motherboard is a SNC302EEH, Bus clock: 100 megahertz, and bios is Award Software International, Inc 6.00 PG 12/07/2000. Right know I have a 1 gig AMD Athlon on it. How can I find the specs of the board?
