Bought a barebone and now i don't know what kind of RAM to get....help please.
I haven't been following hardware much as of late.
I had a Dell that died on me, so I decided to get a barebone and just swap in the components that worked. Turns out it was only the CPU that was shot, so I'm gonna keep the barebone and use it for a new PC for myself (my computer is a piii 600, so it's time for an upgrade). Anyway, i put the RAM i got into the Dell too because I wanted at least 512 and i figured i'd just get one stick. Here is the kit i got. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...3201&CatId=333 it came with a 256 266mhz stick, but it also says that the System Data Bus is 400/533. Does that mean i can get faster ram for it? Like 433mhz?? btw, i had to get another CPU for the dell casue the 2.4 i put in there is only running at 1.8(i guess that's as high as the mobo will allow). So i got a new 1.8 for the Dell and i will put the 2.4 in my machine. Thanks guys. |

hmm, isn't non-ECC the type you should get for desktops?
