Memory and PowerEdge 400SC

Has anyone tried Corsair dual channel memory in there PowerEdge 400sc? I check out crucial and they seem to be way more expensive. I am looking for either 512M or 1GB of dual channel memory that will work with the 400SC.

I ended up getting two 512MB of PC3200 memory made by Buffalo Technology. Here's the link - http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...512mb%2Cpc3200

You can get a stick for $86 (includes shipping). The BIOS shows that I'm running dual memory at 400MHZ, so it does work. Since this motherboard doesn't have any overclocking options, getting faster memory wouldn't really do anything.

I also bought an ATI Radeon 9800 PRO, Audigy 2, and a NEC-1300A DVD writer. All these were also bought at www.newegg.com. The DVD writer does both +/- formats and was only $124.99 shipped.

I don't know what to use either for the 400SC. Fry's have the K-Byte 512MB PC3200 for $59 after MIR but I don't know if it works or not.

I would love to know if it does...was thinking of getting this memory for some aggressive overclocking now, and then use it in a future system.

The memory does work as dual channel. You put one stick in the first slot (next to the CPU) and the other in the third slot (the first slanted slot). I suppose if I put the memory in the first two slots, it wouldn't be dual channel.

I bought a 512 MB ECC chip from Crucial... Its been working great.

But if I was to buy some now.. I wouldn't go for the ECC.
