Nothing against Linux, but putting Linux on a brand new Powerbook seems like a waste to me. OS X is a great OS but if you really want to run Linux, why not buy a PC based laptop at 1/2 the price?

Now an older machine I could understand; I have linux running on an ancient PowerMac 4400. But the 12" powerbook doesn't even have the cool backlit keyboard that would make the hardware worth it.

Whatever you do, enjoy your new machine! I'm hoping to get a 15" soon.

I'm assuming you're an os x noob? www.osxhints.com is always good reference to figure things out, decent amount of answered questions there. But what I would highly recommend is picking up a copy of os x the missing manual. That thing covers nearly all of the basics and then some. Excellent read to help you getting into os x quick.
