Opinions on Olympus C-740 Ultra-Zoom Digicam

Well, it appears that I'm going to need a new digicam soon, and I've been closely eyeing the Olympus C-740 Ultra-Zoom model. I've read a few reviews on the camera from professional sources (Imaging Resource, dPreview, etc.) but would appreciate some advice from average users as well.

For those with this camera (or, even the upscale C-750 model), what do you like and dislike?

I'll admit right now that I'm fairly new to the idea of manual control, so if the camera makes it easy to figure out what all the settings do, it would help greatly.

Looks like I'll get to supply my own opinons on this camera in this thread -- I just won an auction on eBay for a refurbished unit after hearing a few good things about it. (The refurb comes from Olympus America themselves, so I highly doubt I'd get ripped off).

My new toy should be here early next week (considering I'm submitting the credit-card info tomorrow to pay for the darn thing).

I can't comment on that specific model, but I'm on my second Olympus digicam (it's an E-10), and I've had nothing but good experiences with them. You made a good choice, IMHO.

Only thing I think I'll grow to dislike is the darn xD Picture card media -- those cards are TINY! (and pricey).
