Next Base DVD from Deals Page
This may sound silly but what does "Compatible with DVD-R/RW & DVD+R/RW media mean? If it can playback burned DVD's shouldn't they simply list DVD-R/RW & +r/rw in the top line as a "Playback Format"
Playback Formats: • DVD, CD, SVCD, VCD, MP3, JPG • Support for Single and Dual Layered DVD Media • Compatible with CD-R & RW Media • Compatible with DVD-R/RW & DVD+RW Media Does anyone own this DVD? Can we confim that DVD +r/-r will play back in this unit. Thanks Joe |

You're right - is silly for two reasons:
1: post it in a tech forum, not a deal one 2: look it up on Google and actually try to LEARN something on your own. This was a question that should not require help from others That said, here's the answer: DVD-/+R(W) is the MEDIA not the format. All DVD's (no matter what media) are burned, when burned properly, in DVD FORMAT Two totally different words there boss, with two entirely different meanings. Enjoy your day off from Elementary school today ;-)

Joe, as the rude guy up there said. DVD is the format, and DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DR+RW are media. So by saying it is compatible with DVD-R/RW & DVD+RW Media means that it WILL play these. I don't personally own the units though, so I can't confirm.
