Talking Best 256MB Video Card

Im building a new system right now it has or will have a:

Amd XP 2800+ Barton Cpu,
GeIL PC3700 512MB Platinum,
ASUS A7N8X DELUXE Revision 2.0 MotherBoard,
120GB Harddrive 7200Rpm,
18.8GB Scsi Harddrive 10,000Rpm,
Plus a 600W Lead Power power supply

And i'd like to know what you guys think is the best 256MB video card for this system would be. Also if you dont mind, why you think that that card would be best in this system.

Thanks

That power supply is way overkill for your computer.

As far as the Radeon 9800 XT goes, I hope you have deep pockets.

I would actually disagree with you. I think that most people skimp on a PSU. Personally, I was using a 430w PSU when most people were still using a 250. Why? Because higher end PSU's usually deliver steadier and more reliable power, which is ALWAYS good for your parts.

Furthermore, if your looking to get a 256MB card, your going to get something high-end. Combine SCSI (even a 10k) + another drive + optical drives + 256MB high end card = lots of power drain, ESPECIALLY at POST. I know, I had the same problem even with my enermax 430w.

The days of 300w PSU's are gone, if you want to be cheaper and get a 300 or 430, then thats your choice. I do not think he was wrong with going to a 600w.

You can never have to much power, but besides that Im planning on doing the "OH Thats COOL!!" Case, You know the Clear UV Reactive Case, Cables, Fans, Ect.. Plus Luminescent Keyboard, & Mouse. UV Lights. SO I need the power.

I cant wait

Why not go for overkill? You can get the 3DLabs Wildcat4 7210 (which has 384MB RAM) for the low low price of $2200...

I've got 2 19" CRTs and I've been planning to replace both with either 2 17" LCDs or a 20" LCD and keep a 19" CRT

But like Airen said... now if only I could afford the card

If i could afford that card, id be running more than a 2800 Barton Amd. But I dont think that the Radeon 9800 XT is really worth the money, Dont get me wrong its a great card, just not that great, the Radeon 9800 PRO is priced better for the performance, but thats just me.
