2001FP S-Video with GeForce 3?

I just got a 2001FP for xmas from wifey. (Yay). I have two machine, neither has DVI. Since my GeForce 3 has S-Video out and my new 2001FP has S-Video in, does anyone know how well it would work if I used that connection instead of Analog? I'd rather hook up the analog to my server and switch between the two.

- Yes, I have a kvm, but I think it causes some slight distortion on my picture at high res.

Isn't SVideo limitted to 60Hz? If so...might have to sync the same to SVIDEO as your monitor- Might be icky if only 60Hz.

and isn't the max resolution for the tv-out on a gf3 800x600? My guess it that it would look "icky" but, why not give it a try and see if it's giid enough for you. It would be interesting to hear how it turns out.

I believe this monitor is limited to 60Hz at 1600x1200 anyway. 'Sides I was always told that LCD's don't have the same refresh rate problems as CRT's.

That WOULD be icky. Maybe I'll end that experiment right there!

It's not only the 800x600 or so limit to s-video, it's the fact that s-vid doesn't even do a very good 800x600 AT ALL.

Get a new video card with DVI and it will do the Dell 20" LCD justice.
