I'm not too computer savvy. WHat is the difference between the extreme edition and a regular 3.2 Ghz?

The more cash you spend, the more cache you get...

Thats a mistake. You guys listed the fastest clock speed. The fastest performing cpu is AMD. I think it runs a little over 2 Ghz. Check any of the reviews sites on the 64' s performance and it kicks intels ass.

To save money just get a 2.6c and oc it to 3.2 or higher.
I still run intels and my next cpu will probably be a 2.4c/ 2.6c because they oc past 3.4 ghz. I am interested in the 64's but they are at a premium and dont oc too well.

right now i am making use of a 64bit G5 by crunching away at some MPEG2 files in Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. Both apps ae optimized for the G5.
