dsl line and all in 1 printer (fax problem)

How can I hook up my all in 1 printer so I can use my fax machine and go on line at the same time? With a DSL connection? Is this possible? I tried using a splitter and only the aplication I try first will continue to work . If I use the fax first it will only fax and will not be able to find a server when I try tio go online. And if I go online first then the printer/fax reads phone line error.

If you use a splitter, you need to make sure that the split that goes to the fax machine has a proper line filter on it. Maybe that's the problem.

BTW.. maybe you should have posted this in the HARDWARE forum, since it would be more appropriate there (since it doesn't apply to Overclocking) and more folks would see it.

Good luck getting your problem resolved

If possible move it to a unique line. If you can't, lemme ask you what your set up is like. Are you able to log onto your DSL modem from your computer? IS the splitter connected directly at the wall socket? Would you have a problem if the solution required you to hit a switch when you want to change between the two devices? I'm sure there is a solution to your problem. Answering these questions will help to find it.
