i always heard the the HDD is the slowest part of a computer. even worse on a laptop. what difference does it make if it's 4200 rpm and USB 2.0? i guess i'm more interested in the boot-up process.

Nice...

If it's use for data only, it doesn't really matter.

Hard drives like these are invaluable when moving data from one computer to another or making a quick backup. For my work I use a Lacie 20gb sometimes, but my prize possesion is an external 120gb IDE hard drive in a USB 2.0/Firewire enclosure that I put together for under 100 bucks. I am about to partition the drive and put both Mac and PC file format on there so that I can use it on all the machines I support.

Good times. Congrats on the score passwird!

Nice. How fragile is that thing? Is it like an Ipod, etc. or do you have to baby it like a regular hd?

Wow, that IS a tiny drive -- cool. While I won't touch an Archos MP3 player with a 10-foot pole, that hard drive looks like something I might try.

(LPMiller isn't the only person who had troubles with an Archos MP3 Jukebox -- I've personally seen six of them that died shortly after purchase.

Wow, that puts my 128 mb pen drive to shame . Oh by the way, if you don't mind telling us, how much did you pay for this one?

That could be useful with my laptop. I somehow keep running out of space on the 60gb drive in this thing.
