Hey I just bought a stick of Kingston 512MB PC2700 ram to add to my stick of Samsung 256MB PC2700. Ever since installing i have been getting blue screens and random GPF's and **** like that. These only occur when i am playing a game or doing something intense like running bittorrent or using winamp5. I have messed with the placement of the sticks and changed the timings in the BIOS to "Auto" hoping that it would select more modest settings. Still no luck. I have ran the Microsoft memory tester on the ram with no errors. I currently have the 512 stick in slot 1 and the 256 in slot 3 (i have 4 slots total 1-4). Any ideas/solutions? Thanks for any help you may offer.

Try to run your machine with the Kingston stick only and see if you have to same error. If you don't get the same errors, the sticks are not compatible so either return the Kingston stick and get the Samsung or just use the Kingston.

rigorous memory test: http://www.memtest86.com/
We use it at work, and it spews errors on machines with even minor memory problems, and comes up clean on good machines. It has become so dependable that we run it overnight on all new incoming machines. It comes as a boot disk, so no software installation required.
