I want to setup the network so she can print to the office printer from her laptop, and to access files from one anothers computer. She has a wireless network for USC. How do I do this??? Can I set up two? I have Xp pro she has XP home. Help!

go to Start -> Run... then type in "cmd" and press OK
this should bring up a black screen for you to type in a command on her PC, type in "ipconfig" and see what it spits out Repeat on your PC, then post what each PC's say... i can help from there ![]()

Assuming you have the printer hooked up to the desktop, you would go into the printer settings (through control panel) and then check share this printer. You already (once again I assume this) have them on the same network, so that once you share the printer, you can click on that computers name and it should list the printer underneath it. All you do is go on her computer and click on your computer name, click on the printer and then choose it. Normally it will look like this:
//baggio/HP1200 or it could just say Printer on Baggio Its easy to do, harder for me to explain, but hopefully that is close enough to get you through it.

awesome.... you're on the same network at least. uf's advice should work as far as I know. Hopefully you'll be able to go to My Network Places and see if you guys are in the same workgroup, but it never fails to do uf's method of //baggio/printername/
