American laptop in Australia
Has anyone been to Australia with a laptop? I know they use plugs where the prongs are set at an angle instead of parrallel to each other. Don't know if I can buy an adapter that won't damage the laptop. Anywho, here's a website that lists all the different types of electrical outlets in different countries in case anyone is traveling:

What brand of laptop do you have? Compaq? Dell?
My girlfriend is going to Australia in a few months and it will be helpful to know!

I just ordered a Eurocom M120C Voyage. 12.1 WXGA 1.5 mgz Pentium M. They offer adpaters for the UK and for UL, but not for Australia. I wonder if they have adapters you can buy in Australia.
Also, does anyone know if it's easy to swap out a standard CD-Rom drive on typical notebooks? If you can just pull it out and stick in a new one, that's what I want to do. Last edited by Sesshomaru : 07-31-2004 at 11:34 AM. |

most laptops have AC adapters that cover 100-250volts and 50~60hz, so all you really to do is find a prong adapter. When I went to NZ, i used this: http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=PA033U ![]() Apperantly, it's being recalled now. But, you can find similar stuff at any store.
