my new phone. what do you think?

i switched from nextel to sprint for my company phone.

i currently have the nextel i730.

i'm getting a sprint vm4500

the sprint link

good idea? bad idea? i have a sprint pcs card for my computer and a cell. this way i'll be able to grab a cable and just connect my computer to my phone and have web access. not sure if the speed is the same. anybody know? that will save my company 60-70/month.

Personally, I really have never cared much for "flip phones"... but then again, I don't utilize all of the "extra services" either...

I treat my cell phone as a *gasp*... phone.

Phone looks good, though I'm pretty sure that your data transmission rate is gonna be tiny... the phone/network isnt 3G is it? if not, you will be waiting for quite a while for web pages to load.

I heard the older 1xxxx version of the 4500 had issues. The new 2xxx version should have solved them all. You can do a search at sprintusers.com to see what the issues were.

I want the 4500 also but I don't want vision in order to get the 150 rebate. My choices in Sept when I qualify is the old Nokia 3588i or the Motorola v60v since they are voice only phones.

Like regular style phone but nothing on the market gives me the features like Samsung flip phones so I'm using the Samsung SGH-E715 for now. I just ordered the Samsung SGH-D415 (slide phone) so I could add this phone into my family plan for my Mom. I am going to switch the phone with her though.

Geez, let me know about the connection speed, too - I'm about to grap a bunch of PCS cards, but if I can get the same speed through the phone connection I'm all over that!

How much did you pay for the phone?

Our company went to Sprint also instead of Nextel. Price was better. The walkie-talkie on the sprint has a delay where the Nextel was almost instantaneous. Also, Sprint does not have very good coverage so a lot of places we couldn't get a good signal.

Err..... don't you mean "Nextel does not have very good coverage" ???

The way you describe it, Sprint is worse, and that's why you went with it.

For us Nextel had the better coverage and Sprint is worse. Because we have a corporate discount/agreement with Sprint, we were almost forced to go through them. There was a lot more areas were we could not get a good signal with Sprint. I would have gone with Nextel.

I think what he means is that price was the determining factor but now they realize that the walkie talkie is delayed and coverage is worse.
