HD mp3 player battery life
So what are we supposed to do when the internal Li-ion battery dies? I have an iRiver IHP-120..This is my baby..Everything I own..It will gradually hold less and less of a charge right? so should I stop using it when it gets really bad an buy one of those replacement batteries from this place?: http://www.pdainternalbattery.com/irivermp3battery ..I don't want to suddenly end up with a paperweight and lose my collection along with it..

Pretty much that's the best thing to do. Generally you will see shorter battery life over time (rather than find out one day your unit won't charge at all). Once this happens, you might as well buy another battery.
For $35, that's not too bad of a deal (considering Apple wants to charge $100 for its replacement iPod battery). Everyone I talk to is recommending the iRiver, and I think I'm going to listen to them when I buy another HD-based player. (That, and I'm extremely happy with my iRiver SlimX 350 -- even though my remote is toast). |

I have the 4 gb muvo2, which is good (if anyone is thinking about getting one IM me first)...
anyway, li-ion batteries take a looong time to lose their charging capacity (years), and even when it does die, the HD will store the data safely until you pop a new battery in there.
