Question External HD

i have a western digital caviar 80gb hard drive. i would like to make it an external hard drive... thus i need an enclosure, i was wondering what size is this hard drive... i know that 2.5 are notebook drives, but what is the diffrence between a 3.5 drive and a 5.25 drive? and would anyone recommend a good enclosure? i would like it usb 2.0... but should it have a fan?

thanks a bunch

The 3.5" is for desktop hard drive and the 5.25" is for desktop optical drive. The 3.5"/5.25" external enclosure will come with its own PSU and fan. I recommend the 3.5"/5.25" external enclosure instead of just the 3.5" enclosure. It will give you the flexibility to have an external optical drive.
