International Keyboards

How do you type in foreign languages?

I have to get some keyboards that will help me type Japanese, German, French, and Spanish keys. The keystroke conversion utilities are no good for me.

I've been looking at various websites but haven't found anything good.

Cost is not an issue, so we're thinking of getting one of each type of keyboard, i f i can find them.

Any ideas?

Get software that allows typing in foreign language instead.

I'm in china right now. And I've seen an avid typer in chinese. It's so friggin crazy, they use so may different kinds of keystrokes to make a charater. It's so friggin awesome. They use a regular qwerty keyboard, but each charater has certain strokes to make up a charater. I'm thinking it's the same as japan, or very close to it.

jeff beat me to it. yeah they have little stickers to stick onto keys so that you can see the other language's letters.

and yes, they do have full keyboards as well, but a bit more costly.

Japanese typing works by you typing in syllables in English and choosing from a list of letters that matches the criteria (Kanji, Katakana, and Hiragana). If you have Windows XP, that feature should be readily available through the Japanese language pack which I think you can set it from Languages menu at the Control Panel.

I don't know about other languages but at least in Japanese that's how it would work.
