DELL UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1-inch Flat Panel LCD

Who has one and how do you like it?

I have a 17" LCD right now with Analog inputs and I can sell it for $300 to a friend and pick up this bad boy. A 17 or 19" would be fine, but I want the 1600x1200 and the DVI. I do a lot of gaming on the 17" one I have now and it works great, but just wanted to hear how you guys like yours. Have you used it for gaming?

I was thinking the 17" and 19" will not support 1600x1200 anytime soon because of the pixel size limitation.

Should I just stick to my 17" with the Analog inputs or is DVI really worth it?

Doom 3 should look sick on this.

Just kicking around some ideas...

I bought one a couple years ago and absolutely love it! It may seem a little pricey, but compared to what I paid back then (~$1200) it's dirt cheap. In the grand scheme of things your monitor will last you a lot longer than the rest of your peripherals anyway so I'd recommend paying the extra money and getting one. You'll be the envy of everyone who goes to your house and sees it...

And yes, games look great on it, especially Doom 3.

Okay, if you are selling your old lcd, then the 20.1 would only be $450. THats $450 for increased video real estate, a DVI connection (digital baby), and the nutty resolution of 1600X1200. Do it. I have mine and it rocks. The only thing better is a samsung 23 inch and thats around $1500. THe price can't get much lower than it already is.

I love mine as well... using it right now! I replaced a 21" Sony trinitron and I think the 2001FP kicks its butt. Good in games (minor tearing using ATI9800pro, but not annoying) and incredibly low eye fatigue. I am in front of it 8-12 hours a day programming and seldom do I get eye strain.

Seriously I am debating on buying another.. I just wish I had two DVI outputs..

My Sams Club just dropped the Samsung 213T another hundred dollars bringing it to $980. I can't decide what is the better monitor. The reponse time on the Dell is faster then the Samsung but the Samsung has a bigger screen. Oh well, if I can only stay confused a few months longer, the price may drop some more.

Yes, if you buy mounts, they have the holes in the back where the stock stands mount to the panels.
