Is PCX backwards compatible with AGP?
I just bought a BFG Geforce 6800gt and was looking at this years intel purchase program and the board has a PCX 16x slot for graphics. Can those slots run AGP 8x cards or should I return my current card and wait for the pcx version to come out. I dont care about the performance difference but i dont wanna drop $300 on a card that wont allow me to upgrade in 2 years to a new chipset...

An AGP card will only work if you have an AGP slot on your motherboard and the same is true of PCI Express. I haven't seen any yet myself, but there was talk of possibly putting both slots on the same board. NVidea makes their cards using a bridge chip to convert an AGP card to PCI Express (and vice versa), but it is not something you can buy and install on the card yourself. ATI produces different entire versions for each format.
