dell dj, gen 2
hey guys,
i was wondering if you heard anything about the latest dell dj (gen 2). good, bad? the only reason i'm considering it is because i got a coupon from dell...making it somewhat of a warm deal. ~$210. any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I have no idea what gen i got. I just ordered the 15 gb one for my girlfriend for X-mas. It was free shipping, inline remote, and leather case for $182 w/ CA tax. When did they start with the new gen? Everything I read about the Dell DJ said it was pretty good.

15gb? then you have gen 1. gen 2 only comes in 20gb...and a mini-dj that comes w/ 5gb. in general, ppl seem to like gen1 and the only gripe ppl have about gen2 is the reduced battery life.
can you store non-music files on your dell dj? |

since i was the first one to get the Dell DJ on this forum, i can safely say that the DJ is pure utter crap.......
... until you update the firmware. then its a absolute joy to have. yes you can store non-music files on it, and it also has a microphone for doing voice recording. if you get Dell's latest software package for the DJ, theres a little File Explorer-like program that lets you add/delete/rename tracks on the DJ without the use of JukeBox. the only gripe i have about the DJ is the battery indicator, as it doesnt let you know when its done charging.
