so this can capture video from camcorder to the computer??

I like the TV tuner included in that..

Can this be used with Windows Media Center 2004?

*sigh* Yet another Plextor product that is overly expensive just because of the name.

I'm not trying to say Plextor sucks (Hey, I own a PX-712A -- OK?), but you generallly pay and arm and a leg for their quality.

Of course, with this ConvertX thingy, you are also paying more for the DivX encoding support built in, but that's hardly worth $200.

I'll wait for the ATI (or Leadtek, or ASUS) version. Until then, I'll stick with my MSI VOX USB 2.0 tuner.

Initially, Plextor products are expensive, but because of competition, they generally come down to realistic levels.

Yes, and I believe so.

The Plextor does not work with any version of MCE. The only PVR package that supports it is SageTV. I think SageTV will also the be only one to ever support its DivX capabilities for Timeshifting.

One problem with it though. The drivers for it only support one tuner in a system right now. Since SageTV supports unlimited tuners the Plextor can only be one of them.
