LITE-ON DVD Burners

Does anyone else have one of these? I bought one from newegg because it had good reviews from users. I find that 19 out of 20 DVD's I burn are coasters and I am using good media. I have even tried different media. One of my friends had one and said it would just stop working with certain media and replaced it with a Pioneer and hasn't had a coaster since. My other friend can't get his to burn either. When I burn a Data DVD I always get an error when writing the table of contents. A few times I have gotten it to work. And this is using the same project.

Does anyone else have similar experience with these things?

I have a 4X DVD-R. Works fine, but it didn't as it shipped. You may need to flash its firmware. (don't remember where to get it-google)

I am not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere: Is the burner the master of the secondary IDE channel? Is DMA enabled on the hard drive and the burner? Worth a try

I moved the drive to its own channel and DMA is enabled.

For some reason I'll often get an error at the very beginning of a burn process (nothing to do with Plextor - mine's a Samsung). If I eject the media and restart the burn process, it will then burn OK.
