Eek AMD64 3x00 vs. AMDXP 3x00

Alllriight, I'm sure this has been covered already, but I'm not looking for all that old stuff. And I'm lazy. And I'm tired.

I am planning on buying(starting) a new system and I plan on definitely going with a new AMD processor. I hate Pentiums, I've had nothing but slowness from my experiences with intel. (but i'm not here to talk about that, so all you intel bufs get your mouse away from the quote button, i dont want to hear it, it's already been overdone )

Does anybody have any benchmarking of an AMD64 vs AMDXP same 3x00+ or 2x00+ models? I'm looking for raw benchmarking of the processors, no 3d gaming benchmarks, and no generic "build your cpu so it runs this calc fast and you get good scores"-type benchmarks would be greatly appreciated.
I think there is a PCMark or something like that out there that does floating point operation benchmarks, that would be the best.

I know there are some of you out there that do reviews and what not, so a lil advice would be awesome.

Also, I am considering the Opteron 240 or 242, which ups the price to $500-600 just for a board and cpu. I've had wonderful experience with the opterons at work, and would love to dish out the cash for one(or two ), but am curious how they compare in floating point or similar tests.

thanks in advance,
