No power

So last week my computer died, and I thought it was the power supply, so I bought a new one, and at first, with only hard drive and motherboard in, it turned on. I turned it off, and put everything inside. Now it won't turn on, I took everything out and it still won't turn on, any idea how to fix it? TIA

Did you check to make sure that you didn't accidentally unplug the "On" switch?

Also.. check the Power Supply to make sure that the switch on it is in the "On" position.

Does your mobo have any indicators to tell you it is getting power? Asus boards usually have an LED on them to tell you this... but I don't know what mobo you have.

not sure if mobo is gettin power cuz there's no LED on it, its a Sony, but right now I returned the other case and got a new one. So if it doesn't work, it's probably the mobo.

ok, sorry to bring this back up, its not the case, because I've tried a different one, can anyone else suggest something else that might cause my computer to not even turn on? I'm planning on trying the mobo, anything else? TYIA

if your power supply really did go, it may have taken the motherboard with it, i dont want to say this is a definite but it's a possibility

Maybe it's just the mobo that's fried....

Are you sure that the original P/S was toasted? Was there a burnt smell coming from it?

I'm betting that the pimpmaster himself already nailed this one down.... did you check the power button to see if you unplugged it on accident?!??!?
especially w/ a new case, you may have just mixed up the wiring it.. maybe you can push the cd-rom button and it might turn on the computer???

..more details for us and we can figure it out for ya..
