How to adjust this strap?

I bought this excellent looking watch from Amazon.

The strap is way too large...If anyone is familiar with how to adjust the strap (very unusual design, it looks like cutting will be required) please let me know, thanks.

rubber strap? perhaps poke holes? either that or start eating a LOT ;-)
