Where is the desk located? Wouldn't it be easier to secure the room that they're in?

There's spendy:
http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=PA410U
http://www.masterlock.com/promos/pyt...hon_lock.shtml

And what I use in my classroom to secure the $2000 analytical/digital balances and my lab computers:
http://www.cynmar.com/product_info.php?products_id=5181
(I drill 3/8" holes into the chassis for the computers)

Hope that helps.

Actually, I usually use a hinge or if nothing is available, I drill holes into my desks/tables and put 1" screw eyes in.

Is it possible that you can just buy a "lockable desk"?

http://www.tryten.com/products/Wcf7bcf83bf765.htm is something I trust more than a lock and cable system. $$$

If you look at the page they say how big of a tower it can accomodate

Adjustable sizes include:
Height: 13" to 24.75"
Width: 6.5" to 9.85"
Depth: 8.25" to 21.50"

And there's a paragraph that says you can remove it without leaving a mess on the surface of the desk. So somehow thieves can't pry it off the desk but I'm guessing you can when you properly unlock the computer and remove it and then do some unlocking magic that you can get to inside the cavity.

There is a "request a quote" button on that website...

However the minimum order is $250. I don't think this site sells their products to normal retail outlets... however you might want to just send them an e-mail to ask them where you can order it.

Drill!

Drill a hole in the back, and side wall of the case and then put a screw eye in your desk/wall and use a cable lock.

Many better manufacturers (Antec) makes cases with key locks on the doors, if you are concerned about ppl getting into your 'puter.
