I Bought a Plusdeck for Importing my Cassettes to my Computer

I have been considering buying one of these devices since they came out. But the price hasn't been worth it. Computer Geeks had a Blue Light Special yesterday for $89.99 which I just couldn't pass up.

If anyone wants to know how this thing performs, I will post my findings in a few weeks.

I was just talking about tapes with some friends a couple weeks ago. I couldn't get over how I never listen to full albums anymore. Back when there were only tapes, I would memorize all the songs on every album I had, because I always let it play through the end. There was even a "milestone" kind of identity to the point at which the sides switch. With CD's and MP3's now, it's too easy to "browse" through albums with a touch of a button. Everytime I go to karaoke, I realise how I can't sing along to any song since the 90's without looking at the lyrics.

The only way I can feel better about this sense of loss is to convince myself that in the same amount of time, I'm listening to a greater variety of music. sigh....

Okay I'll bite. What is the point of this device when you can just use your boombox (or any other cassette player) and the audio in jack on the back of the PC? Seems like the capeability is already pretty much built in.
