broken Dell 2001fp - options?

Guys

My daughter, I dont even like to type this, punched my 20" Dell 2001FP monitor and cracked it.

Does any company replace the panels in these or am I doomed to buy a new one?

Does Dell have common sales on their accessories/monitors that I can wait for? I cannot fork out $500 right now...I see the 2005FP is on sale now, but not 2001FP. I do not want to wide screen at this time.

Thoughts? HELP!

well, you can try to find a panel on ebay, or baring that, a 'broken' monitor. on ebay that has the screen/backlight intact. They aren't that hard to replace. If you are going to go that route, you should take apart the monitor and try to get the part number of the LCD to make sure you get the right one. Sometimes revision changes will change out the connections, so you HAVE to get the correct match or your screwed.

But, expect to spend a couple hundred, either way. Most of the cost of a monitor is in the LCD.
