Find my RAM speed/type.

I want to get more RAM for my Dell 9100 (dual core pentium).
What is the highest speed it can support?

Unless you are planning to overclock it (Which on a Dell I doubt you can even tweak the speed settings on the memory)... why bother buying faster memory?

Per the Dell specs, your machine uses PC2-5300 / 667 MHz

Thats a good point on the speed, I wasnt thinking at all...
Do all Dell 9100 systems use the same ram speed? I know some 9100's use pentium 4 and some use pentium Dual Core... etc, etc.

Pretty much I'm sure that both types of setups use the same memory. If they were different I'm sure that Dell would have 2 different listings for upgrade memory.

Oh lord, don't buy memory direct from Dell! Go to Crucial.com. lol

Yeah, Crucial has a DB you can use to find memory that's compatible with your specific system. Just look up your model and they'll give you a listing.

BTW.. I wasn't recommending that he buy Dell RAM... I was only showing the specs of what Dell has as the correct RAM for his system.

Just needed to clarify that.
