Help on choosing flat panel TV

Hello everyone. its been awhile since ive been on the forums. anyways, im looking to buy a 37" or maybe 32" flat panel tv (lcd or plasma but i think plasmas are for 42" and up) well my knowledge on this subject is somewhat limited. i did research on a few tv sets about 2-3 years ago but with tvs nowadays, the information i learned is outdated. im looking to mount the tv on the wall of my bedroom. ill be running a dvd player and watching regular cable. my price range is about $1500, But if something comes along that is worth paying more i will consider. anyways i appreciate any input and advice anyone has to offer. im also looking on the avs forum, but that forum is abit overwhelming if your not a tech wiz. thanks again

did some shallow research and came up with the viewsonic brand lcds. they come in 32", 37" and 40". theyre priced right up my ally. im leaning towards the 32" as opposed to the 37" just because theres a 700dollar price difference between them. anyone have any opinions?

if you search on pricegrabber.com, there's a westinghouse and a sceptre 37" LCD 1080p set for ~$1500 i think. not bad considering you'll get 32" 720p tvs for that much.

i know you'll be watching dvds and regular cable on it, but it's future-proof at least (i think both are HDCP compliant, although that might not be so much of an issue anymore). and you'll have the 1080p for when you get that HD or blu-ray dvd player.

i had a 32" HDTV (CRT), and it died on me (maybe due to the tweaks i did). Too heavy to send back, so I decided to look for a 32" LCD screen instead. i made researches online, and found quite a few to select from for under $1000, and theyre falling in price every month.

thing is when i decided to check out the screens at bestbuy, circuit city, and tweeter, 32" seemed so small now (even for a small apt like mine).

42" however, looked just right. big enough for the WOW factor, and small enough to fit in my tiny apt.

42" PLASMA, that is. for roughly the same price as a 37" LCD, you can get a 9th-gen HD plasma.
