DVD recorder recommendation?
I'm looking to buy a fairly basic recorder, largely for making dvd's of shows off my tivo. I want a player that is fairly intuitive to use, with a commercial pause or skip button so I can easily edit out commercials. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Well... if you have the shows already recorded in TIVO, then it should have the "commercial skip" button.
Sounds to me like you just want a DVD recorder to capture your shows to a DVD right? Something like this: http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2....ROD_ID=1671267 or this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...49542?n=172282 Another alternative is to get a DVD recorder with a built in hard drive, but those are gonna cost alot more money than a basic recorder. I personally have a Sony DVR that has a 160GB hard drive and can burn in +R, -R, and RW formats, but that unit retails for like $799 (I got it on sale at One Call for like $499)

i bought the Pioneer DVR-510HS two years ago. I dont know how it compares to other DVR's (like Panasonic), but it gets the job done for me. It has a 80 GB hard drive.
i'm sure newer recorders have easier to use controls, and certainly, bigger hard drives.
