Hooking up 2 HD components, "Y" adapters, do they exist?

The only way I can properly hook up two components would be with a "Y" adapter for the three video and two audio RCA type component cables. I can get by with just the three video cables because I have other options for audio connections like optical. Anyone know where a component "Y" adapter can be found if they exist and is video signal lost by splitting them?

I suggest using a switch.
But, if you buy 3, or 5 or however many regular Y RCA cables you need from Radio Shack, that works too.

I would think anytime you split a cable like that you're going to lose signal.

I think it depends how many splits you do. I would imagine a single split would be ok. BUt when you split it 4 ways, then you are in trouble.

I want to do a single split, the amp does 110watts a channel. I just came from Radio Shack and got their "Gold series" "Y" cable. The guy at Radio Shack insists it is not meant for surround signal, just analog signal. I doubt that is correct, if it is high quality cable, shouldn't it pass the signal fine?

An audiophile would freak out about splitting the signal but your normal viewer/listener probably won't notice the diff.

Split away!

Yeah, it'll either work great or not at all so might as we try. Keep us up to date.
