HK or Sony Reciever?
Please, make my life easier. I have 2 dual 10" JBL front, JBL center, and [to remain unnamed] satellite... but now i need a new reciever:
Harman Kardon AVR 240 7.1-Channel (discount through work: $323 shipped) or Sony STR-DG800 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver with HDMI Passthrough ($279 shipped @ amazon) I like the HDMI passthrough on the sony, but I am looking for best sound (which i suspect will be the HK?) My current reciever is lagging the sound to my new Samsung 50" DLP, anyone know the cause of this, will I have this problem with either of the above choices? It is also old and crappy, so an upgrade is required!

I prefer HK but I also like Denon in general for my components.

oh my god, HK hands down. it's been a looooooong time since Sony made a quality receiver (back in their ES line, which I believe exists still but much much less emphasis on it).

Ok ok... Help me out here though, will the HK fix my sound lip sinc problem?
The sony advertises this on their product description "A/V Sync The STR-DG800's special digital signal processing allows for lip sync delay to adjust to match the refresh rates of today's advanced flat panel televisions." Also, is there an HK model i should try to find that can also support DVI passtrough? Thanks guys! |

Well, I *traded* for my friends Onkyo reciever. I guess thats a good medium until I drop some bigger bucks down. I also aquired his 4 "TOUR" JBL sattalites and 10" JBL Subwoofer. Im set now speaker-wise for 7.1 except the reciever I just got only supports 5.1 ...
