In that case, all I can say is "good luck" -- I'm sure LCD panels only started coming out in widescreen (they came after plasma sets, which were all widescreen as well).

if you want an lcd, you're going to have to get yourself a 16x9. There was a small window... and stupidly, I bought a (i think 24") 4x3 lcd for my parents for like 600+ (about 5 years ago?). I can't imagine what a 32" 4x3 lcd would've cost during that window. anyways, get a 32", or even a 37" lcd (i've seen 37" go for around 550 when there's a good deal). use that screen, with the borders if he really doesn't want it stretched (i watch mine stretched), and he can enjoy that extra space whenever he watches a dvd. |
