I'm in the market for a nice region free player, macro free would be an added bonus. Needs to have CDR/RW compatability, Mp3 would be nice. Any suggestions?

I have an apex 703. U can disable regions and the macro thing by downloading a firmware upgrade I heard. Look through the search engines for apex hacks and upgrades. I haven't tried it myself but thousands of ppl can't be wrong. Good luck.

I got an Apex 660 and it has macro disabled and is region free. The most versatile players on the market are the Apex's. They play mp3, vcd, cdr and dvd. If you want some reading on the firmware upgrades, check these out...

Thumbs down Aiwa DVD player

I just came from San Fran and a friend of mine has that exact same player!!! Her complaint is that she can't see DVDs unless it comes from Region 3(Asia?). I noticed it at her apt b/c it was so small and portable. She buys VCD's instead which aren't sharp but cheaper than DVDs.

Just wanna give you a heads up that it claims to play all regions but it might not. Good Luck.
