HELP with tv/vcr crap

okay, here's the story.

Last week, my mother-in-law recorded JAG & The Guardian over at her house, because I was recording and watching other stuff over here (I REALLY need Tivo. lol). Anyway, I had the tape last night and I hadn't watched either of them. So I decided to record last night's episodes after the first 2 shows on that tape, to watch today and tonight. I watched last week's shows this morning and it was great. Then, this afternoon, I start to watch last night's shows and it isn't working. Lines all the way across, from top to bottom, it keeps flipping (know what I mean?) and half the time, can't see a pic at all. Now, if I fast forward while it is playing, I can see the picture clearly. No lines, no noise, etc. VERY strange! WTF is going on??

Did you try adjusting the tracking? It might fix the problem. Also check the standard things... Make sure your on the right channel, all cables are connected correctly, take the tape out and put it back in, etc.

No tracking on it. Yes right channel, yes cables right, took tape out and turned off and on, etc. I think juju & I figured it out. We think my mil recorded on one speed last week and I recorded on a different one yesterday. *sigh* Oh well!
