Apex, sir.

I hate you.

I hate you with a passion.

A passion so pure, it probably would come through extremely clearly on that Home Theater System.

And now I now what some good movies are to purchase to piss off the people in my complex

Oh.....my.........gosh.................

It must have been hard coming up with the words required to describe that system.

Great review, and although they'd be overkill for me, I know someone who would snap these up if they had the cash. Of course, they'd probably kill me if I send the URL of this review to them.

Just to clarify a point....
Last I checked, Skywalker Ranch/Studios were using Miller & Kreisel (M&K) speakers.

I was *sorely* temped to get the Harmon Kardon and 370THX setup when the AVR8000 was on sale a couple of weeks ago, but they wouldn't let me use the coupon on the combo =8-(

But then I came across a small blurb mentioning that M&K was being used by Lucas himself in creating the THX parameters. Something similar is also mentioned here: http://www.mksound.com/whatsnew2.html

Don't get me wrong, both are awesome systems.

Actually, Skywalker ranch uses many different speakers, the M&K and Atlantic systems are just 2 of them. They also use Wilson Audio.

Is this the system that you mentioned last week that will blow the Z680 out of the water? I hope not, because it isn't even in the same league, pricewise.

Don't waste your money!

If you're really going to be upgrading, don't waste your money! The Atlantic's are mediocre for the price. I'd recommend buying and/or auditioning the Onix Rocket's which can be found from www.av123.com

You'd best get in line if you're interested though as their is a HUGE demand for them. The Rocket's will make the Atlantic's sound like computer speakers in comparison. I'd suggest getting Rocket package 0, 1, or 2, with a Hsu VTF-3, SVS, or VMPS Larger sub. Once you get these speakers I can guarantee you won't want to return them after the 30 day auditioning period. Heck, you probably won't feel the need to upgrade ever again unless you become an obessessed audiophile.

No offense, but that sure sounds like a sell man. At this price point speakers are far more subjective from one listener to the next. If anyone is going to plunk down in excess of $2000 on speakers (which is relatively low by hi-fi standards) they should audition them period.
Nice review Apex
