Projector and screens info??

Hey guys I'm planing a HT set-up hopefully by christmas. I need info on projectors and screens. Anything I can read to learn so I can make an informed buy. Also what projectors/screen do you guys recommend? I plan on going widescreen with the screen and the room will not be a HT only room. Will have my tv and stuuf there also so pull down or filp down screen would be cool but I can DIY on that once I get the screen. Thanks guys.

not sure about buget yet but around 3-4 grand on both the porjector and screen. Might go up or down. But if I learn that I need to spend more then I save longer. Thanks

That's a great budget.

Do you have ambient lighting control in that room?

Have you ever seen a projector? Do rainbows (DLP) bother you? How about screendoor effect (LCD)?

I really don't know to much about projectors yet. I'm reading as much as I can. I do have a small window in the living room but I can block it out rather easily, also the room is not that big probally no more than 10-12ft long. I've seen the ones they use at the university I go to and some set up in compUSA stores. But other than that no. Let me know what you think Apex.

great deal?

I'd love to hear about any projector deals. I'm in the market for a 16:9 projector. I'm thinking of the new SONY that's supposed to be out soon.

Unfortunately, there's going to be a delay until 11/18/02. !$#@$ manufacturer politics.

Ok I need similiar advice. I'm moving into a friends condo after he packs up and moves. I'm renting his place for a while and he's leaving his bose system and a projector.

I'm going to get basic cable. What do I need to send the audio and video to the Bose system and the projector? I think I need a cable box to without a coax but with a video out or some type of converter b/c the projector takes video in and s-video but no coax. suggestions? It's a Proxima 6150 I think....

The bose system looks like a 5.1 setup. 3 in the front and 2 in the back and a subwoofer on the floor. He says I need a receiver. What outputs does it need and I need something cheapy. Model recommendations?

Hehe. Sorta. Here's the story. It's a HS10, but Sony seems to be doing extended QC. We should be able to get excellent pricing.

Sony doing QC??? Guess they care about their "high end" stuff. I was just figuring that they told ya to wait until all of those coupons they had out expired.

HS10 from what I've been reading this is going to be a great HT projector. Apex have you seen it in action, is it all that it suppose to be?

Sony still has no firm delivery date. However, I know I'm getting one of the very first ones and at a great deal. I may not end up keeping it though. If so, anyone want mine?
